Foundry Methods Engineer (United Kingdom)


 Our client, based in the UK is a world class manufacturer of high quality machined and complex cast components for the Aerospace/ Defence, Automotive and General Engineering industries. The company specialises not only in producing high integrity castings such as engine blocks and cylinder heads but supporting their customers from casting development through to supply of a finished machined parts. There is now an immediate requirement for an experienced Methods Engineer to part of this successful and forward thinking company.Main responsibilities will include 

  • Participating of new product introduction and continuous assessment plans. 
  • Proving technical guidance for operators and other personnel within the areas of foundry methoding.
  • Provide effective process and product feedback and contribute towards reinforcement of Standard Operating Procedures and standard working practices.  

Duties will also include 

  • Providing technical assessment of castability and quality requirements of new work from sales enquiry stage of the process.
  • Performing solidification simulations using appropriate software programs.
  • Oversee pattern/die design, quotation, construction and delivery.
  • Manage sample/prototype process flow (from pattern construction, casting, after-cast to final clearance for production) of all new products.
  • Provide technical input to all areas of moulding/casting with respect to problem resolution, cost reduction and new technology implementation.
  • To be ‘hands on’ on all matters relating to methoding, casting process and order processing.
  • Contribute to technical matters relating to all production processes and development of castings.
  • Ensuring the production plan in relation to all aspects of methoding is adhered to and thereby ensuring an on time delivery of a quality product.

Applicants must have the following

  • A high level of education, preferably to Degree level in a foundry related subject such as Metals Technology, Materials Science or similar discipline together with a level of knowledge and experience related to molten metal production.
  • A progressive career with a high level of practical knowledge of foundry methoding and simulation and a trade background of moulding/pattern/core assembly is essential particularly in the use of sand moulding in an automated/semi automated/jobbing foundry.
  • You must have had experience and evidence of the ability to methoding specific customer’s requirements in relation to casting requirements from initial conception to final delivery.
  • Demonstrate proven skills & knowledge to utilise foundry solidification simulation software such as CAD, Magma.
  • An excellent command of the English language (as your native language) and are presently an UK resident.
  • Salary will be circa 45K GBP plus package.

Quality Manager (France) Aluminium Foundry – Automotive.


Seeking a Foundry Quality Manager skilled in the application of international automotive and other standards (ISO/TS 16949, VDA 6.3, ISO 9001, ISO 9004, ISO 17025) in a foundry and casting environment. 

It will be essential to have technical quality skills relating to the supply of high volume manufactured castings to the automotive industry.

Experience required will include the management and improvement of the quality management systems and its processes, internal auditing, training of personnel, customer contact.

It is preferred for candidates to have had several years experience in aluminium HPDC foundry.

Candidates should be fluent in English and ideally also with the German language.

Salary package will be circa 40K Euros

Machining Manager (France) Aluminium Foundry – Automotive.


A Machining Manager is required to manage a large machining operation at an ultramodern foundry based in France. It has conventional and automated machining lines as part of the assembly and production capacities enabling it to manufacture 400,000 gearboxes for automotive industry per year.

You must have experience of managing a large, high volume output machining operation, particularly from the aluminium HPDC foundry industry. 

You should be fluent in the French language. English will also be advantageous.

Salary package will be circa 40K Euros

Business Development Manager Aluminium castings - (Germany) Automotive

 Seeking an experienced Business Development/Sales Manager with high volume aluminium HPDC experience. The position will be based in Germany although frequent travel to northern Europe and Scandinavia will be also a major part of the responsibility of the job. Candidates should also have an excellent technical knowledge of aluminium HPDC processes.

Candidates should have at least 5 years experience of working in a foundry sales environment with particularly knowledge of supplying to the automotive industry.

You should be fluent with the German and English languages. French language would also be beneficial.

Salary package, subject to experience, will be circa 60K Euros negotiable plus company car and sales bonus.

HPDC Process Engineers (France, Hungary, Germany & Portugal) Aluminium Foundry


Our client is a major European Group leader in High Pressure Die Casting (HPDC) for the automotive market with a turnover of approx 340 Million Euros. They have 12 Production sites worldwide including France, Germany and Portugal.

We are currently seeking candidates with specialised technical skills in HPDC foundry to support the group’s international product and market development.

DFR 687/1: International HPDC Process Engineer: 

This appointment will based in France but will be involved with national and international group company site visits.

Salary Package: upto circa 45,000 Euros , subject to experience, plus company car.

Candidates must have a minimum of 3 years experience in process control in an aluminium high pressure die casting facility producing components, ideally for the automotive industry.

Experience should also include the following:-

- HPDC process control in production of aluminium cast products particularly for the automotive industry. (injection moulds/machines/quality/defects)

- FANUC robot knowledge

- Development and mould tests

- New industrialisation projects

- Comprehension and implementation of manufacturing procedures

- Process improvement for presses and cutting tools.

It will be expected that the candidate will be considered the technical expert and have the ability to train personnel and teams.

You must be able to speak and write in the English language. It would be advantageous if you are also able to speak French.
